This jacket has been recreated using vintage crochet blankets sourced from the Rose Bowl Flea Market in Pasadena, CA sourced by hand.

It features my signature dramatic shoulder, and has been carefully cut and curated to accentuate the original geometry and floral patterns of the crochet work. With the geometry pattern featured on the front vertical panels and floral design on the collar and the sleeves. The collar follows the square pattern of the crochet panel.

Before I cut into any of the materials I’ve sourced, I spend time with the piece to appreciate its original form ie; geometry, colour, pattern, texture and material fibre - and how they move on the bias so that not only is it beautiful, but functional.

ETHICALLY + LOCALLY MADE: Cut in my studio and locally sewn by a high skilled sewer who only works with one of a kind pieces and samples giving employment to local craftspeople.
